In the last five years, I started collecting English bone China crockery and tea pots. I buy them off Trade Me, antique shops, op shops, and recently on Facebook Marketplace. My plan was to set up a High Tea place in the Philippines where I originally planned to retire. Little did I know that instead it was meant to be used at amazing property we bought in Blenheim in early 2020. It was perfect for high tea at the The Great Room in our luxury villa.
When NZ successfully managed Covid 19 and New Zealanders were free to travel and mingle around, we thought we’d organise High Tea at the villa. In September 2020, we organised our first High Tea. It became very popular that we decided to organise a monthly high tea event. Interesting to note that attendees of our high tea from Blenheim didn’t know about our accommodation business at Mountainview Villa. Then from high tea, attendees of our high tea asked if we could host lunch/dinner functions for companies of their families and friends, and/or exclusive high tea for their organisations. With that, our offerings had expanded, and so did our network.
In February 2021, we held our inaugural Summer Concert at the villa. It was sold out. Then the idea of combining our high tea and concert was put to the fore. As there was not a lot of happenings in Blenheim at wintertime, we thought we would hold one at this time. Hence, on 10 July, we held our exclusive high tea and concert at the villa.
